10 THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY LAST WEEK

02.01.18

Happy New Year ya cuties. I’m kicking off 2018 in my dressing gown with the flu, which admittedly, I’ve been fully fighting off for the past two months and finally got hit the day before New Year’s eve. I’ve spent my first day back at work, actually off sick, binge watching Friends and blowing my nose every 2.5 seconds. Although I’m thankful for the extra day off, I’m actually excited to get back to routine, make some good changes and do good this year. For now though, Lemsip for the win.

This past week has been a roller-coaster, super busy, super cute and such a blur. As I’m not completely ready to say good-bye to Christmas and 2017 just yet, here’s 10 things that made it the best week.

CHRISTMAS EVE WITH THE GIRLS

I haven’t gone out on Christmas Eve in years; I used to like getting cosy the day before Christmas but this year, in the spirit of change, I thought it would be nice to do something different and I had the best night with my best friends, getting drunk, singing and bringing in Christmas day. Granted, I was eating ice cream at 8am to try and cure my hangover but was still worth the sore head.

MY MUM LOVING HER PRESENT

Now that I’m fully adulting (kind of, ish) giving presents to my family is my favourite part of Christmas and knowing I got it right this year with my mum’s record player made it super special. She cried. And I spent Christmas day being serenaded by Buble on Vinyl.

MY WATCH

I’ve had my eyes on a watch by Olivia Burton all year and this Christmas Charlie got me the cutest one. I am in loveeee and so grateful.

BOXING DAY WITH CHARLIE’S FAMILY

It was nice to do something different this year by driving up to Barnet for Boxing day to see Charlie’s mum, nan and family. Although it was the longest day and hangover day 2 was in full swing, it was cute to spend time with them and binge eat on party food.

LAZY DAY WATCHING CHRISTMAS FILMS

I didn’t get much chance to stop in the past week but I did reserve a day to do nothing but eat Camembert, watch Jack Frost and The Grinch, have a nap, a beaut bath and an early night. SO needed and so good.

FAMILY DRINKS ON THE 28TH

I had the cutest night of Christmas at Charlie’s for family drinks. We had the best night playing games, eating good food, having baby cuddles and didn’t call it a night until 4am. I also didn’t wake up with a hangover so winning – although I did then get the flu, so erm.. not so winning.

GETTING MY PAY RISE

Although money disappears like no tomorrow, I was super chuffed to get my first monthly wage with my pay rise – making all the hard work last year so worth it. I’ve been able to treat myself a little, put some away, pay what I need to and although it was only a small change, I hope it’s one that can make a difference when saving to move out this year.

OUR 2 YEAR DINNER

We made it to two years and I could not be happier to be where we are right now. We celebrated in our fav way; eating good food.

MAKING A PIE

I came down with the flu the night before new years eve and so had a quiet one, watching Riverdale and making a pie with the leftover gammon and turkey and was so pleased how it turned out. I had a chilled night and was pleasantly woken up by Charlie at 3am who obviouuusly couldn’t get enough of me all week – making a cute night even cuter.

NEW YEAR

I’ve never been a huge fan of New Year’s Eve, I feel like there’s such pressure to do something amazing and after last year, falling asleep at a house party minutes fter 12- I told myself I wanted to have a chilled one, be around a small group of beaut people, remember my midnight kiss and start the new year the way I mean to go on and we did just that. It was a beaut night – even with an illness.

SO, that’s it – I’m so grateful for the best month and the most festive, cute, chilled, Bailey’s filled week. Now I am on mission ‘get better’. I’ve joined a new gym, brought  myself a new laptop and I’m ready for amazing things in 2018.

What has made you happy?
