I’m writing this on my last day in the office of 2017 but it’s most likely that at the time of posting, I’ll be in my trackies (same trackies I’ve worn for the past week probs) getting through all of my leftover chocolates, watching Home Alone for the 24803 time and on to my 320985 glass of Bailey’s.
2017 has been a heeeellla year – At the same time, any time before May feels like a million years ago but the entire year seems to have sped by.
I’ve been so ready to break up for Christmas and start a new year that I haven’t really given myself time to reflect which gives me allll the feels so I should do it more often.
Anyway here’s some highlights of 2017 for yaaa –
GLAMPING WITH MY GIRLS
Myself and the uni girls packed up our bags for a weekend in Chichester in May, which made a beaut change. Something about waking up in a tent, having a coffee in the middle of a field and cooking your sausages on a camp fire that makes for THE most relaxing weekend ever – weird that. We stayed up talking, glamped it up in the hot tub, explored the town and had one of the most memorable thai meals I’ve had all year at The Lemon Tree. Yep, that’s a claim.
ON HOLIDAY WITH CHARLIE
Nothing beats a week away, eating non-stop all-inclusive food and ice cold Malibu’s with pineapple juice. The bestest little break with my favourite person – whom as a separate highlight made it to 2 years in my good books. We’re pretty impressive.
PRAGUE
I loooove long weekends away in Europe and one of my favourite weekends of 2017 was spent with Gabs in Prague and I get feels every time I look back at the pics. Good beer, good food, good company. We’re cute and have been throughout ’17.
CHARLIE’S BIRTHDAY IN WEYBRIDGE
My favourite nights with Charlie are nights that include alcohol, food and a cosy bed. For our first anniversary last year, we ate at our now fav restaurant in Weybridge which is basically kebab and red wine heaven. We returned for his Birthday in August, staying in the cutest pub hotel. We have had some of the best nights and for sure this one makes it to my top moments.
I STAYED IN A VILLA IN GREECE
I look back on this week and literally my heart goes. I’d dieeeee to go back, to spend another 9 days with my beaut girls from home, chilling in the most amazing villa, eating the most amazing food and falling in love with my friends all over again.
I GOT A PROMOTION
It’s been such a whirlpool year at work; I’ve been so busy, learned so much, we’ve grown in size and had some amazing socials AND I got promoted. HALLELUJAH.
LOTS OF BABIES
2017 was a year of two new babies and I’m in love. I’m aunty to both the most adorable baby girl from Charlie’s side and then most recently, my brother and his girlfriend gave birth to Riley, the newest baby boy to our family. I WANT ONE. KINDA. NOT REALLY. I’LL LOVE THEM AND HAPPILY GIVE THEM BACK.
***
So basically, my fav moments have basically been holidays, food, pay rises and babies – lol. Accurate of all my favourite things mind. I’ve had the best year alongside so many difficult battles – it’s been a crazy year, with so much change and I’m so ready to tackle next year, hoping for better things, better change and the same amazing friends and family.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
