THAT ONE TIME I WENT TO PRAGUE

I’M USELESS FRIENDS.

I promise I have every intention of being a better blogger after every post but with lack of time, laptop and inspiration – comes zero blog so I’m soz.

ANYWAY, let’s talk Prague if I can remember that far back – I’ve since had birthday celebrations with Charlie, baby shopping for 2 new babies in my life and got a promotion at work which has made everything lately worth it, so forgive me if my memory is haaaazy.

I spent my bank holiday in August with my best friend Gabrielle, exploring the city for 4 days and I’m in love (with Prague, not Gabs – although it could be argued). Renowned for its Stag & Hen culture, beer and good food, the city didn’t disappoint, except maybe once when the Jazz Bar was closed after a 40 minute walk and then it rained. Ohhhh I was sad.

Catching up with my friend, taking a break from life, getting photo happy and eating and drinking allllllll day in the cutest places are for sure high lights of my weekend and if you fancy a trip; here’s 8  things I loved about Prague.

THE WEATHER

Ohhhh I hear you, cliché. England was fab all over the bank holiday which is basically unheard of so I’m sad to say the weather in Prague (except for the night, we do not speak of) was just as good.

GOULASH

For anyone that doesn’t know, Goulash is a Czech speciality and is the babe of all soups. We had the besttttt Goulash served in a bread bowl in the square next to the clock tower and I genuinely can’t stop thinking about it.

RADLER’S

Or better known as a shandy in the UK. SO underrated when sitting in the sun and I reckon my water weight now mainly consists of beer and lemonade. GREAT.

CHARLES BRIDGE

Although the trip wasn’t all about seeing every site to man, although we saw a lot just but wandering the streets, my faaaav was the bridge. Full of artists and buskers and tourists taking photos, I had one of my best days strolling around town and crossing the bridge.

THE CHURRO’S

Prague wasn’t shy of fried donuts, chocolate sauce and ice cream which was music to our ears. Without making this list basically about all of the food we ate, these we’re definitely a highlight – being attacked by wasps who apparently luuuuurve churros – not so great.

JOHN LENNON’S WALL

Surrounded by people all celebrating the same thing made visiting the wall pretty special. Not sure if it’s an official thing but it’s cute, hidden one.

THE SHOPS

There’s nothing better than wondering around town, when the sun is out, no real aim and mooching around the gift shops. Prague was home to such cute homemade gift shops which admittedly is one of my favourite things when away.

THE NIGHTLIFE

No surprise, that the nightlife in Prague was buzzing. Gabrielle and I couldn’t always hack it as our hangovers combined made us pretty useless for any form of sightseeing. The one night we stayed out until 5am, we spent the next day struggling to make it to the castle (probably one of the biggest sights in Prague) stayed for half hour, sat down for an iced tea and got the tram home.

***

I had the best long weekend and when I think back to it now, almost 3 bloody weeks later, I smile because it was juuuuust what I needed.

I’m off to Greece next week (lol) and now that it’s basically Autumn and I’ve had my first pumpkin spiced latte of the year, it almost feels unreal. I’m ready to get away again though; work has been mental and 9 days with the girls, sat in our villa by the pool will be absolute bliss.

I promise to speak soon.
