THE BREAKFAST CLUB, SPITALFIELDS

Happy Saturday Friends. Last night was an absolute dream as I ventured into London to meet Gabrielle, my best friend who lives with her boyfriend in Essex. It was good to catch up, reminisce on uni life and gossip about being a grown up. We booked a table at The Breakfast Club by London’s Liverpool Street and I sing my praises at the real good food, good cocktails and insane decor and surprises. When I say insane, I mean simple 80s madness, taking us down a trip to way back when. I must say, it’s a casual eat, it’s nothing fancy and it works.

We arrived during happy hour (5pm-7pm) and so £5 cocktails were on the cards. I went for a BC Espresso Martini and the Basil No Faulty. Both amazing but I did take a sip of Gabs’ Rosie and Gin which was incredibly refreshing.

Our table was directly under the infamous decor so I’ll take this time to apologies about our foodie photography. Lighting wasn’t our best friend but the food was.

The Breakfast Club, does what it says on the tin, offering all day classic American breakfast food but it also caters for the meaty lover, the veggies, the burger addicts and they even throw in a couple of salads (not sure why).

I decided to go for the All American Late Late Breakfast which included a good portion of eggs of your choosing, fried potatoes, sausage bacon and maple syrup and a good stack of american pancakes. A good portion for the price and the eggs were spot on (a common concern for any egg lover).

Gabrielle went old school and ordered the Mushroom and Swiss BC Burger which is served with skin on fries and coleslaw. Good review on the melted Emmental cheese and the coleslaw looked amazing.

Dessert, we decided to share the Baked Cinnamon Cheesecake with berries. Real good for two as the cinnamon may defeat you if eating for one. Then came the the dirty little secret of the BC, Spitalfields which involves an underground cocktail bar and a giant fridge. I’ll say no more but definitely worth putting yourself on the list for the experience.

Trips to the bathroom are never a dull moment with your best friend after a few glasses of red but the BC toilets are filled with walls of my little pony memorabilia, mags of the 80s and graffiti, which I always personally like being nosy on.

The Breakfast Club, provided us with a chilled night with good comfort food at a reasonable price. You get what you expect. Service was cheerful, the evening is quirky and you are left feeling a little bit tipsy. I definitely recommend a visit and I will for sure, be taking a trip again to try out the day menu.

Until next time,

lovelove,

R.
