HAPPY DAY 14 OF BLOGMAS FRIENDS.
It’s a typical Monday and I was mentally ready for bed by 7pm. Now that I’m 9-6 (and don’t get me wrong, it’s crazy good compared to shift work – minus the lack of tips) I spend my evening constantly counting the hours until I have to be in bed ready for work again the next morning and I’m finding it manic to do anything with life. I get home, eat dinner and have a bath and by then it’s bloody nine o’clock.
Not too impressed by all of that.
And so as I sit here typing, trying to catch up on Suits and Youtube and family and baes and my eyes are stinging, my brain hurts from an 8 hour day of project planning and I have anxiety as soon as it gets later than nine; I’ve come to the conclusion that blogmas is just a little bit more work that I thought it would be.
You should have seen me in November, planned every blog to a tee and now I’m too tired, too poor, too boring to stick to it all. I need to be inspired a little. Or I probably just need a week of sleep. I’m going for the latter. Nonetheless, life is good. I am super excited for a week of work celebrations and even more excited to be hanging up my suit and tie for 10 days of Christmas bliss.
Tonight however, I have completely flopped. It’s Christmas jumper day tomorrow and surprisingly, I don’t own one. I was meant to bake cakes and instead, I’ll be taking in a ready made salted caramel sponge (which to be fair, looks just delightful). I begged my mum to buy me a ginger bread decorating kit which of course, I was too tired to do by the time I got home but had to pretend like I was loving life making them because I practically gave her a court case in the middle of isle 9. Best Idea Ever, I said. I now realise I probably should have just baked cakes. But what can you do. It’s day 14 and my brain is fried.
I’ll be better tomorrow. Besides, we haven’t caught up in a little while have we?
Just incase you are desperate to see my gingerbread masterpieces, I have photographic evidence. Please try not to be too impressed.
How was your Monday? If you can still handle my rambling, then be sure to follow thehouseonthegreen, for the second half of December. I’ll be nursing you through that christmas party hangover, baking cheesecakes and showing you around my winter wardrobe. How’s that for a blogmas ay?
Until then, I’ve really gotta give my eyesight a break as I have never spent so much time in front of a computer screen in all my life.
lovelove,
R.
